Den Diepen Boomgaard is a sheltered workshop. People who for various reasons cannot find a job elsewhere are offered the chance to acquire work experience and develop professional skills. They learn to shoulder responsibilities, cooperate and interact with customers.
The social dimension is the unifying theme of all Den Diepen Boomgaard's activities. The organic business offers a welcoming environment where staff can fulfil their potential at their own pace. The security of an open-ended contract provides them with the time to take control of their lives again. Employees ready to spread their wings receive the opportunity to move towards the regular job market.
Every team has a supervisor to coach the team members in the work place, while the social department oversees the employees' career paths.
  
Den Diepen Boomgaard is accredited by the Flemish Brabant province and the WSE (Employment and Social Economy) as both a sheltered workshop and a social integration project. Den Diepen Boomgaard works together with GTB (Specialised Flemish Public Employment Service) and the public social welfare centres in Grimbergen, Zemst, Vilvorde, Uccle and Meise.
